Nowadays I purchased a 1/2 cord of firewood from a neighborhood guy named Pat. He was the one a year ago who split the difficult oak (&quotblack jack&quot) I had shown him.

I told Pat the story about how @windsordi saw that wood and implored me not to burn it all, and then how I sent her a piece which she returned to me in the form of a lovely pen. And then how this summer I visited her and delivered a box full of that textured wood.

He was amazed.
